Position Purpose:
The primary purpose of the Outside Sales Representative (OSR) are to generate new business, grow sales and provide sales support to assigned accounts in one of the following customer segments: property management, restoration/remodeling, residential builders, trades or manufacturing. Individuals in this position must demonstrate exceptional dedication to meeting customer needs through timely sales calls, job-site visits and on-time product delivery. To be successful in this position, and OSR must develop strong, personal relationships with 35-40 existing and prospective customers in the targeted segments.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide sales support to existing accounts by seeking to understand customers'businesses, anticipating their future needs and becoming their primary supplier.
Generating new business by gaining knowledge of new projects, customer or bid opportunities with targeted segments and ensuring that weekly calls are executed to qualified customers.
Develops and executes strategies for gaining new business and increasing business with existing customers by documenting and then presenting how HD Supply can add value to their business by becoming their primary supplier.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
Typically reports to General Manager.
This position has no direct reports.
Travel Requirements:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
Working Conditions:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five years of experience is preferred.
Minimum Education:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
