Position Purpose:
The Regional Safety Manager is responsible for the execution of Enterprise Safety programs ensuring the sustainment of a strong safety culture and compliance to regulatory guidelines. Key responsibilities include, but not limited to; Safety EHS onboarding of key field leaders (regional or district), managing outlier performance (safety metrics outside company guidelines) for key locations, investigating serious safety incidents and coordinating the review with key stakeholders, supporting crisis management activities which may include fires, hurricanes and other disasters, and conducting regulatory inspections. This role will lead a field organization of 3 to 5 Territory Safety Managers within a designated Region and own the implementation of the Enterprise Safety initiatives without adding complexity to the store operation. The RSM reports directly to the Division Safety Director.
Key Responsibilities:
30% - Delivery and Execution - Oversees the execution of the Enterprise EHS programs and proactively identify and resolve EH&S risks that impact safety performance within the region. Accountable for improved OSHA rates, compliance to regulatory guidelines and physical safety standards for store locations. Drives engagement through the enterprise safety recognition and celebration programs in partnership with Region, District and Store leaders. Responsible for the review and coordination of all Investigative and Serious Incident Reviews for region. Drives education and alignment to the enterprise Safety Standards of Procedure.
40% - People - Makes recommendations concerning selection, termination, compensation, performance appraisal, discipline, and professional development of direct reports. Drives accountability to the Enterprise Safety deliverables, including Region, District and Store OSHA rates, physical safety guidelines and regulatory compliance. Development of teams that drive department performance towards achievement of quality standards and performance metrics. Ensure priorities align with objectives and goals. Coach and mentor employees providing ongoing performance feedback. Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. Planning, monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates. Leads, plans, and coordinates work teams to ensure effective performance. Utilizes metrics to track performance and manage workload. Provide effective leadership to drive associate engagement and alignment for all Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives and programs, regulatory compliance, hazmat, equipment, and physical safety guidelines in stores. Responsible for onboarding and training for Region, District and Store leaders for all enterprise programs and EHS compliance. Develops leaders and builds a deep talent bench for leaders by driving the succession planning and selection; Drives the development of direct reports by conducting annual and mid-year reviews, reviewing individual development plans and providing performance feedback; Ensures adherence to major and minor work rule policies referenced in the Standards of Performance and all company SOPs.
30% - Strategy and Planning - Proactively identifies EHS risks and maintains close alignment with Region/District leaders to monitor progress and ensure proactive strategies for creating a safe working environment for associates are in place. Drives alignment and engagement for Enterprise Safety Initiatives and programs for the Region. Executes all Environmental, Health and Safety strategies which include managing OSHA processes, regulatory compliance, store celebration programs and investigating serious incidents. Leads Safety outlier management within a Region (Safety results not meeting company guideline).

Travel Requirements:
Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting or standing in the same location or there may be a need to stoop regularly or move/lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).
Working Conditions:
Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes, or odors.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
