Job Summary
The Lead Application Engineer designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs advanced software systems and application programs for the organization.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
Lead functional projects.
Provide training and guidance to application engineers.
Evaluate, research, and recommend software application upgrades, patches, and new functionalities.
Assist management in the design and implementation of new applications, including consulting with functional architects on application design.
Work with stakeholders to perform application functionality gap analyses and feasibility studies for application enhancements.
Develop and document complex and in-depth technical design specifications to meet business needs identified through application requirements, user stories, support tickets, and test defects.
Delegate tasks to application engineers and provide training and guidance on the design and development of software enhancements.
Lead the development of test plans and scripts for functional, performance, regression, and user acceptance testing.
Analyze applications for compliance with security protocols and audit controls.
Review and resolve escalated incidence management activities.

Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations.
Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems.
Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the results expected.
Determines and develops an approach to solutions .
Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
Work Environment
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or closely related field plus 5 years of work experience in offered or similar position involving SAP financial modules, workflows, and SAP implementation and integration in a lead or mentorship role.
Will accept a single degree or any combination of degrees, diplomas or professional credentials determined to be equivalent by a qualified credential service.
